George Toriello sent me this information from military and census records on Trevor Edgar Jarrard’s service on December 29, 2019. 

Trevor Edgar Jarrard is listed on the Original Wall Unit being misspelled when written on the small pieces of wood by fellow students as ‘Trevor Jarrad’ and had no star next to his name being Killed in Action.  Trevor Edgar Jarrard is listed on the City Hall Plaque, but not on the 1946 Year Book Dedication page. According to U.S. Consular Reports of Births, Trevor Edgar Jarrard was born on December 13, 1921 in Leicester, England.  According to the 1930 Census, Trevor E. Jarrard at the age of nine was living at 34 River Edge Manor, New Milford, New Jersey.  At the age of 19, right around the year he graduated, the 1940 Census tells us Trevor E. Jarrard was living at 16 Ward Street in Hackensack, New Jersey.  He enlisted into the Army on September 1, 1942 at the age of 20.  Trevor E. Jarrard served in the Pacific Theater as a Private First Class with the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment 11th Airborne Division, nicknamed ‘The Angels’.  On April 27, 1945, Trevor Edgar Jarrard was Killed in Action at Luzon, Philippines.  Trevor Edgar Jarrard received a Combat Infantry Badge and one of the highest awards for heroism one can receive the Silver Star.

            Private First Class Trevor Edgar Jarrard was Killed in Action April 27, 1945, at Luzon, Pangasinan Province, IIocos, Philippines.  He was repatriated around November 26, 1948 to Hackensack, New Jersey and buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.

The certification says ‘New York Cemetery’ that appears to be in a general sense, because address is Hudson Street in Hackensack and that is where Maple Grove Cemetery is located.
